Dr. John DeBrine

Founder

John DeBrine founded Songtime in 1963 and served as the president and host for 50 years before retiring in 2014.

John started his ministry in Youth For Christ and after joining the pastoral staff of Ruggles Street Baptist Church, founded Youth Time, a bi-weekly event for teens in the Greater Boston area. With a passion for religious broadcasting and nothing on the radio in Boston, John sought out to start a radio program that would play Christian music. Songtime was born and the original studio was set up in the Church's broom closet.

As the ministry grew, John stepped down from the pastorate to focus on Songtime and his itinerant preaching schedule. His ministry took him all over New England and the Northeast.

John passed away in March of 2021 and is now in Glory with his Savior.
